BOZEMAN, Mont. -

A Bozeman production company is gearing up for a trip to Alaska for what they call an historic event. Distill Productions is set to document Expedition Denali -- a group of nine climbers from across the U.S. that will attempt to be the first African-American team to summit Denali.

A partnership between National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), REI and The North Face organized the team in an effort to increase diversity and awareness in the outdoors.

Folks with Distill Productions say they're excited to be invited and they encourage more people to get outside.

"This film is acting as an invitation to all people to get outside more and to protect the places that we all love," says Distill Productions partner George Potter.

Representatives with Distill say it's a costly endeavor. That's why they launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund their trip. They're about $10,000 from their goal, which ends Friday morning at 10 a.m.
