BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Downtown Bozeman was bustling Friday evening as folks enjoyed the first Art Walk of the summer season.

People strolled up and down Main Street, browsing artwork at dozens of businesses and enjoying food and drink as they socialized. Live music dotted the sidewalk along the way.

Some folks got a fun surprise at the Gem Gallery, which featured a special artwork display.

Inside the shop, people packed in to look at jewelry, paintings -- and motorcycles.

Artist Brett McGinley showcased his first collection of fine art airbrushing on canvas, metal and a few choppers.

The intricately painted, but burly bikes sat alongside cases of delicate necklaces, rings and earrings.

"It's kind of juxtaposed," McGinley said. "It's pretty cool; it's different. Not something you would expect to walk into a gem shop and see."

Quite an usual mix for sure, and both McGinley and the Gem Gallery owner Don Baide said they were glad to showcase something different to kick off the first Art Walk of the season.

"It makes a nice combination," Baide said. With a laugh, he added, "A couple people asked, 'Do you get a free motorcycle with a big diamond, or a big diamond with a motorcycle?'"

The Downtown Art Walks will continue through September. They're held on the second Friday of the month.

Though the motorcycle display was just for the first Art Walk, Baide said McGinley's artwork will be displayed in the Gem Gallery during the summer.
