Car crash near Plains kills Red Cross volunteer
Montana State Troopers report a 53-year old woman died in a car wreck near Paradise late on Monday night.
The woman, whose name has not been identified, was returning from volunteering for the Red Cross at the West Mullan fire.
Troopers report the woman was a passenger in a Jeep driven by her 63-year old husband on Highway 200.
The driver apparently swerved to avoid hitting an elk, overcorrected and rolled.
The woman died on the scene.
The driver was rushed to the hospital. No word on his injuries.
