BELGRADE, Mont. -

We have an update on story we first reported back in May. When the Belgrade students head back to school in the fall, they may be seeing some new faces on their school bus.

New bus routes have been requested by the Transportation Committee to have students riding buses based on the schools they attend. It could potentially break up elementary, middle and high school students.

The Chairman of the Belgrade School Board tells us a request has been put in, but a final decision will not be made until July 22 -- when the Gallatin Transportation Committee will meet.

When we spoke with a Belgrade bus driver, Lora Pierce, she told us she is hoping for the change.

"All together it is a positive change. I think it is very different having kindergartner students on with seniors. There is just a whole different way of disciplining the children. They behave differently, the language is different," said Pierce.

Many parents we spoke to off-camera were in favor of the potential changes. They tell us it would be a positive thing for their children to be riding with other kids who are closer in age.
