BOISE, Idaho -

Two of 12 charges against a Meridian man who police say went on a drug-fueled rampage last summer have been changed from misdemeanors to felonies.

The Idaho Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/1g4VzO6) the charges against 23-year-old Sean Daniel Carnell were upgraded Thursday at a preliminary hearing in 4th District Court.

Authorities say that over a two-hour span on Aug. 22 Carnell kicked a dog, punched a teen, beat up a construction worker with a shovel, tipped over a man in a wheelchair, tried to strangle a 36-year-old woman, and broke windows in a house.

The felonies he now faces are aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and aggravated assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily harm.

His next court appearance is set for Nov. 5.
