Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman announced Monday that the Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in an emergency exercise at the Corvallis High School on Wednesday, October 23rd.
The Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Corvallis School District, Corvallis Rural Fire District, Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services, Ravalli County Office of Emergency Management and the National Institutes of Health to conduct the exercise.
The scenario is the rescue of victims injured by an intruder. The exercise will provide emergency responders and school staff an opportunity to practice plans for school lockdown, rescue and medical triage of victims, and post-emergency reunification of students with parents.
During the exercise there will be numerous emergency response vehicles and personnel at the school and area immediately surrounding the Corvallis High School. Citizens are asked to avoid the Corvallis High School during the afternoon of Wednesday, October 23rd.
