Ravalli County and DNRC fire crews knocked down a grass fire that burned 40 acres late Sunday afternoon.
Officials say the blaze was reported near Granite Creek off of 8 Mile Road just before 5 p.m.
After responding, county officials called in a DNRC helicopter and engine for support.
The helicopter was able to drop water around the edge of the fire and keep it contained to 40 acres.
We're told no structures were lost. The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined.
The fire danger is listed at high in Ravalli County. An open burning ban remains in effect.
