MONTANA ELECTION
BILLINGS, Mont. -

A former deputy in the Yellowstone County clerk of court's office has filed a complaint claiming the clerk discriminated and retaliated against her because she supported the clerk's opponent in last year's election.

Barbara Klang filed the complaint with the Montana Human Rights Bureau on Sept. 3 arguing clerk Kristie Boelter subjected her to an "uncomfortable and hostile" work environment and favored those who supported her candidacy.

Klang first filed a complaint with the county's human resources department in March saying Boelter had given her more work and took away her office. After that, she says Boelter took away her printer and reprimanded her for demonstrating unacceptable demeanor.

Klang resigned on March 14. A consultant said she found evidence to support Klang's complaints.
