Fire crews from Evergreen and Kalispell rushed to a reported structure fire on Rose Crossing in Evergreen and found a camper parked in the front yard was fully engulfed in flames.
"We saw really thick black some and we saw flames ten feet high," said 7-year-old Aydon Markham-Larson. He and his grandfather were inside their house having a snack when an RV caught fire at the house next door. "I was not sure what was going on, it scared the heck out of me. I didn't even know what was going on," he said.
Fire crews responded to an RV on fire that was parked near a house on Rose Crossing in Evergreen Wednesday evening.
Officials tell us three people were inside of the camper when it caught fire.
First response crews rushed a juvenile boy and an adult female to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. The third, an adult male, was airlifted to Seattle. All three have severe burns.
Chris Goulet and his girlfriend Tanisha Gladden were at a nearby friend’s house when they heard loud pops and saw thick black smoke.
"There was a bad fire that looked like it started somewhere in the middle of the camper and when we showed up there was flames twice as tall as the camper into the score," said Goulet.
Other neighbors we spoke with say they didn't really know the people living there, saying that they were occasionally loud but mostly kept to themselves and didn't really interact with the other neighbors.
While fire officials were unable to confirm what caused the fire, neighbors we spoke with believe a propane tank inside of the RV caused the explosion and lit the camper on fire.
Names of the victims have not yet been released, but all three are listed in critical condition.
