MISSOULA, Mont. -

The Missoula Rural Fire District (MRFD) quickly knocked down an early morning structure fire south of Lolo.

It happened at 6005 MaClay Road at about 3:15 Wednesday morning.  The Missoula Rural Fire District and Florence Fire responded.  Authorities say the fire appears to have started in the attached garage and then spread to the attic of the house.  The residents escaped without injuries.  Red Cross is helping the displaced family who were renters at the property.  The home owner is said to live in Florida.

It is unknown if the home is insured and no damage estimates have been determined yet.
