Family Forestry Expo teaches community about logging, forest history
COLUMBIA FALLS, Mont. -

Kids and adults alike got in touch with their inner logger at the Family Forestry Expo in Columbia Falls. During the week, students were at the expo learning about the role forests play in their everyday lives.

Saturday's family event featured demonstrations from FVCC's Logger Sports Team as well as interactive workshops all over the Trumbull Creek Forest. Folks we talked to said the expo has been an annual family tradition for years.

"My older brother is an Eagle Scout now, I used to come with him and watch the show while he worked," said Logan Kolodejchuck. "The look on the little kids' faces when they see how much fun it is.... that's fun. They can see the culture of what they used to do like the old logging."

Columbia Falls has hosted the expo for 24 years.
