Final election results in for Madison, Jefferson counties

The Daily Beast pored through 30 years of voting data to find out which states have the most passionate voters and, thus, are the most political.

BOZEMAN, Mont. -

The ballots are counted, and votes tallied for the races in Madison and Jefferson counties.

In Madison County, Becky Vujovich was elected the new Mayor for Ennis, with 114 of the final votes. The competing candidates, Audra Bourk and Brandi Palmerton, received 110 and 57 votes, respectively.

Incumbents Alinon Arpin (196 votes) and Brian Vincent (157 votes) will keep their seats on the Ennis Town Commission. Candidate David Mackenzie received 106 votes.

In Sheridan, incumbent Dean Derrberry will take the mayoral seat, beating out Michael Laurin with 166 to 87 votes.

Sheridan Town Councilman races were uncontested. Paul Kramer and Mark Mclaughlin were running the two open spots.

Three candidates were elected to Virginia City four-year Town Commissioner seats, of the seven that ran. Scott Petersen, Erin Leonard and Scott Kelley took the top votes, with 100, 87 and 72 respectively. Both Petersen and Kelley currently serve on the council.

For the two, two year commissioner seats in Virginia City- Robert Erdall and Justin Gatewood won out the votes. Erdall received 98 votes, Gatewood 91. The third candidate, Barbara Smith, received 29 votes.

One of these new Virginia City Commissioners will be appointed Mayor by the Commission.

Races in Twin Bridges were uncontested. Thomas O Hyndman will be the next Mayor, and David Albert Banks Jr. along with Matthew Greemore and David Smith will take the three open seats on Town Council.

In Jefferson County, Dale Davis will be the next Whitehall Mayor. He got 173 votes, over his competitors incumbent Mary Janacaro Hensleigh (117 votes) and Johnny Dyson (31 votes).

Current mayor Gary Craft continue on with the title in Boulder, with 203 votes against Kathleen Rux (139 votes).

Jefferson County voters struck down the Basin County Water Sewer District Mill Levy with 51 people voting against the measure and 15 people voting for it.
