FWP to lift fire restrictions in southwest Montana
The following is a news release from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
At 12:01 a.m. Friday, the fire restrictions at FWP properties in Park and Gallatin Counties will be lifted - this includes fishing access sites and wildlife management areas.
Stage 1 restrictions were put into place August 30 because of prevailing dry and mild conditions. The restrictions include a ban on open fires (campfires included), and constraints on smoking.
Despite recent precipitation, FWP urges continued caution related to the use of fire on all public lands in southwest Montana. Grasses and lands are still susceptible to fire no matter the date on the calendar.
Editors Note: Open burning restriction will also be lifted inside Bozeman city limits at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, September 13th.
