Law enforcement officers from all over Montana will be in Hamilton Thursday to honor their fallen comrades. They're tipping their hats to 132 fallen officers, dating back to the 1800s.
There will be a parade along Main Street at 1 p.m, followed by a commemoration ceremony at the Performing Arts Center afterward.
Organizers were checking the sound system at the Performing Arts Center on Wednesday.
The ceremony isn't just meant to honor officers who died in the line of duty. It also honors past and present law enforcement men and women.
Hamilton is expecting a big crowd.
"This is the first time I believe," said Hamilton police Lt. Steve Snavely, "that an agency our size, a fairly small agency, has been given the honor to host this event and to remember our fallen brothers."
The parade will feature bagpipers, vintage patrol cars and the Montana Highway Patrol Guard.
Main Street will be blocked off during the parade.
