High Heel-A-Thon, a parade in "her shoes"
Dozens of men and women strapped on their highest heels and strutted down Kalispell Main Street Saturday morning for the second annual High Heel-A-Thon.
The Abbie Shelter and Violence Free Crisis Line hosted the event as a way to raise money and awareness for the shelter. Participants we spoke to said walking eight blocks in stilettos was a challenge, but it was a way to encourage victims of domestic abuse to speak out and seek the help they need.
"There is support for women who are out there suffering in silence in domestic violence," explained Ronalee Skees. "There are women out here who want to help and who have the desire to come out and talk to you. So that's why I'm out here today."
