Old Chicago free dinner
BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Folks all over southwest Montana got to enjoy a free Thanksgiving meal, thanks to organizations, businesses and volunteers who put together dinners for the community.

Old Chicago in Bozeman teamed up with the Hilton Garden Inn to feed hundreds for the 6th annual Miracle on 19th Street Thanksgiving dinner, with all the traditional turkey day fixings.

They fed over 400 people in four hours.

Local vendor The Nutty Montanan also chipped in, parking his famous red "nut hut" outside to offer free treats to over 250 folks.

We asked people on their way in what they're giving thanks for this holiday.

"I'm thankful we have places like this where folks like me and the homeless can go, and have a nice turkey dinner with all the trimmings and everything," said one Bozeman resident.

"I'm thankful for my family," said another.

"We're thankful for each other and good friends," said one group, finishing their statement with a cheer.

Other community Thanksgiving dinners around town included a free meal by the Christian City Church and various organizations at the River Rock Community Center in Belgrade Thursday afternoon.

John Bozeman's Bistro provided a free, gourmet, sit-down meal to folks during the day. The Community Cafe also served free Thanksgiving dinner during the evening.
