IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -

A Twin Falls police officer has cited a man for riding a bicycle while intoxicated.

Officer Charles Van Vooren Jr. cited Alva Deen Garrison Jr. at 1:42 a.m. Monday after he saw a man who was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk swerve into the roadway in a construction zone as a vehicle drove by. The Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/11Qs33S) Garrison was arraigned Monday on a misdemeanor charge of being a pedestrian under the influence.

Court records say Garrison's blood-alcohol level was 0.134, above the legal limit of 0.08.

Idaho law says a pedestrian who is under the influence of alcohol or any drug to the degree which renders him a hazard shall not walk or be upon a highway except on a sidewalk.
