A Missoula man is headed to jail less than two months after a judge handed down a deferred sentence.
We've been tracking Jason Christ's case since 2011 when he threatened to blow up a Verizon Wireless store.
We were in the courtroom today when a judge found Christ in contempt of court for three different violations. Prosecutors said Christ tried to intimidate a witness, took video and audio recordings of court proceedings after a judge ordered him not to, and that he lied about his financial situation to try and get a public defender.
“This is not your first time in a courtroom, this is not your first trial,” said Missoula County District Court Judge John Larson. “You knew exactly what you were about, you knew exactly what was going to happen, you ignored that.”
Larson sentenced Christ to 30 days in jail. He’ll also have to pay a $500 fine.
