Jury deliberating in Billings rapes trial
A deputy Yellowstone County attorney asked jurors in a Billings rape trial to find the defendant guilty of all 27 counts in what Juli Pierce called a "reign of terror."
Closing arguments were held Monday in the case against Toby Griego, who is charged with breaking into four women's residences in 2013, repeatedly raping three of them and trying to rape a fourth. The women testified about hours-long assaults in which they were threatened with weapons and forced to bathe.
Prosecutors reminded jurors that Griego had images on his cellphone of the women during their attacks, and noted the similarities of the attacks.
Defense attorney J. Thomas Bartleson argued there was no DNA or trace evidence connecting Griego to two of the crimes.
jurors began deliberations at about 11:15 a.m.
