Fatal Crash
BUTTE, Mont. -

The Montana Highway Patrol says a 58-year-old Lima man died after his vehicle went off a U.S. Forest Service road and down an embankment.

Authorities say Ed Rose died of blunt-force trauma to the head and neck after his vehicle late Friday went off White Pine Ridge Road in the mountains about 13 miles south of Lima in Beaverhead County.

The vehicle wasn't found until Saturday morning.

Trooper Joseph Wyant tells the Montana Standard (http://bit.ly/16jEEnV) that Rose wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Wyant says speed wasn't a factor, but it's not known if alcohol or drugs were involved.
