Little Bighorn Battlefield to rededicate memorial
The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument will commemorate the 138th anniversary of the famous battle this week.
The event begins Tuesday and concludes on Sunday with wreath-laying ceremonies.
Events, guest speakers and book signings are planned at the monument, located south of Crow Agency at the junction of Interstate 90 and Highway 212.
The Billings Gazette reports that a rededication of the Indian Memorial will take place on Wednesday. June 25 was the day 138 years ago when Lt. Col. George A. Custer and the U.S. Army's Seventh Calvary battled with the Sioux and Cheyenne in one of the last armed conflicts of the Indian Wars.
