A Livingston man charged with shooting at a woman during a confrontation in the parking lot of a Bozeman fast-food restaurant has reached a plea agreement.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports 23-year-old Nathaniel John Budd pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of assault with a weapon for shooting the woman in the leg and upper back with a .45-caliber handgun on Dec. 1. Prosecutors are recommending a 40-year prison sentence.
The woman and a man said they were in a vehicle waiting for traffic so they could pull into the drive-thru when Budd began honking his horn and revving his engine.
The woman said she signaled for him to go around, eventually swore at him and made an insulting statement about his vehicle. She says he fired his gun into their vehicle.
