University officials say the sub-zero weather expected on game day Saturday will take a toll on attendance.
The last time Missoula hosted a second round playoff game, more than 22,000 fans showed up. The box office count at Washington-Grizzly stadium tomorrow is just over 16 thousand.
We caught up with a few diehard fans on Friday at the Adams Center who were picking up tickets.
"This is Montana, this is the way we grew up,” said Libby resident Milo Hawgen, who plans to cheer on the Griz with his two grandsons. "It's only a few hours out of your life. You aren't going to die from it. Come out and cheer them on. They are going to be trying as hard as they can to advance, and they've got to endure it, so why can't we as fans do the same thing for these guys?"
The university tells us they'll ease up on what fans are allowed to bring into the stadium. They want the faithful to be warm, and they're happy to get the support.
