Lumber company aims to safeguard property in Haskill Basin
WHITEFISH, Mont. -

FH Stoltze Land and Lumber is aiming to permanently protect 3000 acres of working forest land near Whitefish. The Trust for Public Land has secured a conservation plan to purchase development rights from Stoltze through 2015 to safeguard land in the Haskill Basin area.

We learned Haskill Basin is the source of 75 percent of the city's water supply. This agreement will guarantee public access, recreation, and continued forest management without the threat of future development. The Trust for Public Land will look to the public for donations to make the conservation easement a possibility.
