A Washington man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase following a Belgrade purse snatching last July will spend five years in the Montana State Prison.
Joshua Bolton and another man stole an elderly woman's purse in the Belgrade Albertson's parking lot, and knocked her to the ground when she tried to get it back.
They then led police on a chase down I-90, topping speeds of 100 miles per hour. Court documents state troopers later found the car off the highway.
A juvenile female and Bolton's accomplice, Kenneth Lohman, surrendered. But Bolton fled on foot, and authorities found him hiding under a nearby house.
On Monday, a judge sentenced Bolton to 10 years for Criminal Endangerment, with five years suspended.
Lohman was sentenced in February to six months in jail on a misdemeanor theft charge.
