A Billings man has acknowledged driving drunk with his young son in the vehicle when it got stuck on the railroad tracks in July 2012.
The Billings Gazette reports 33-year-old Beau Gray Cantwell pleaded guilty Thursday to criminal endangerment and driving under the influence.
Under the plea agreement, the criminal endangerment charge was reduced to a misdemeanor. Prosecutors will recommend suspended and deferred sentences when Cantwell is sentenced in March.
Charging documents say police found Cantwell covered in grease and oil while trying to free his vehicle from the railroad tracks in Billings on July 26, 2012. His 9-year-old son was in the vehicle.
Cantwell's blood-alcohol level was 0.139 percent, above the limit of 0.08 percent at which a person is considered legally intoxicated.
