DENNY SMITH
MISSOULA, Mont. -

A Lolo man pleaded not guilty to allegations he assaulted his wife, stabbed a friend, and drove drunk.

Denny Calhoun Smith appeared in Missoula County District Court Tuesday on the charges.

Court papers say he kicked and hit his wife after the two got home from a bar; the two had only been married two weeks.

The allegations go on to say Smith pointed a gun at his wife and threatened to kill her. And when she asked for help, Smith allegedly stabbed the man who tried to help her.

Police say they arrested him when he was driving drunk with the stab wound victim in his vehicle.
