Man shot, wounded in Bozeman transient camp

BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Authorities say a 52-year-old man was shot and wounded by another man at a transient camp in Bozeman.
    
The shooting happened Sunday night near the 19th Avenue overpass on Interstate 90.
    
Bozeman police Sgt. Colton Schumacher says the victim was shot two to three times and was being operated on for his wounds Sunday night.
    
He declined to release the man's name.
    
The victim reported the shooting and told dispatchers the shooter was still with him.
    
A 52-year-old man has been taken into custody. Both the alleged shooter and the victim are transients.
    
Schumacher says a weapon has not been recovered and authorities are still investigating the scene where the shooting took place.
