GREAT FALLS, Mont. -

A national immigrants' rights group has filed a civil rights complaint with the Department of Homeland Security after a Mexican man facing deportation said he was raped while being held at a Montana jail.

Audemio Orozco-Ramirez told the Great Falls Tribune (http://gftrib.com/172fk3A ) he was in a cell with nine men when he was held down and raped on Oct. 5. He says he believed he lost consciousness after the attack.

Orozco-Ramirez, who allowed his name to be used in the story, reported the assault on Oct. 7 after being moved to a jail in Idaho.

The National Immigrant Justice Center is asking Homeland Security's Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties to investigate. The complaint questions whether the Jefferson County jail in Boulder had adequate safeguards to prevent an attack.
