Missoula man appears in federal court for hacking charges, 'Anonymous' link

MISSOULA, Mont. -

The Missoula man accused being a member of the international hacking group “Anonymous” made his initial appearance Friday at a federal courthouse in Virginia.

27-year-old Wade Williams is charged with conspiracy to intelligently damage protected computers.

Anonymous became known for a series of well publicized hacks and attacks on government, corporate, and religious websites, and for its support of Wikileaks.

Court officials tell us Williams has been released from custody.

He's expected to appear for an arraignment hearing Friday, October 18.
