Missoula-based CostCare opening clinic in Helena
A Missoula-based clinic that aims to offer affordable health care is opening a clinic in Helena and plans to expand to other Montana cities if its new clinic is successful.
CostCare opened its Helena clinic on Monday on the eastern edge of Helena.
Co-founder and co-owner Carol Bridges says the clinic offers affordable health care to those with no or high-deductible insurance. Walk-in and scheduled family practice visits cost $55 while physicals cost $85.
Bridges says CostCare is able to keep costs down by not billing insurance companies, with the exception of an agreement with Allegiance Benefit Plan Management and some of its members. CostCare also has lower flat rate agreements for X-rays and lab tests.
CostCare opened in Missoula in 2007.
