In Missoula, a motorcycle crash involving a mountain line bus leaves one man dead.
The accident occurred around noon Saturday.
The 41-year-old Washington man was a resident of Lynwood.
Family and friends in Washington did not know he was in Missoula, and could not think of why he would be in the area.
Missoula County Coroner’s office says the motorcyclist died of blunt force trauma to the head and trunk.
The mountain line bus was traveling west on Cowper Street when the motorcyclist crossed the intersection heading north on Phillips Street.
Police tell us the motorcycle was traveling at excessive speeds for the neighborhood, and he was not wearing a helmet.
There were five passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.
They were released from the scene when a second mountain line bus showed up to continue their route.
Police are currently speaking with independent witnesses to find out the details of that crash.
