MSU prepares for spring commencement
Crews across campus at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse are finishing up preparation for Saturday's spring commencement.
We stopped by the fieldhouse this morning.
Organizers say they begin planning as soon as the last graduation ends but the real leg work began Monday.
Workers already have the carpet down, the stage built and lighting in place.
We're told it's a lot of work but it's a little bit easier with fall commencement fresh in their minds.
"Sometimes, when you do things once a year, you kind of look back and you're like, 'how did we do that last time.' So, we got together right after the last one, made notes and stuff like that and it's still a lot fresher in everybody's mind," says MSU Sports Facilities Director Chris Hayden.
Organizers tell us more than 100 folks from around campus helped set up the commencement ceremonies and say it couldn't be done without good communication.
The morning ceremony begins at 9:30, the afternoon, at 1:30, but if you want to catch the procession you should show up at least half an hour early.
