NorthWestern Energy dedicates wind farm
NorthWestern Energy has dedicated a 40-megawatt wind farm north of Geyser - the first wind farm owned by the company.
NorthWestern Energy officials lauded the "phenomenal" wind resource available at the $86 million Spion Kop wind farm in the Highwood Mountain foothills about 10 miles north of Geyser.
Officials with NorthWestern, turbine manufacturer General Electric, developer CompassEnergies and Judith Basin County gathered near a substation Tuesday to formally dedicate the 25-turbine wind farm, which has been operating since December.
