On March 27, 2014 at about 4:30 PM Yellowstone National Park Dispatch received a 911 call from a female in Gardiner reporting a male, by name, trying to break into her home. She advised the dispatcher the male had already shot at her.

Park County Deputies and Park Rangers from Yellowstone responded to the scene. Upon arrival they found a deceased male and a female in critical condition inside the residence. Emergency medical responders attempted life saving measures but she died at the scene.

Investigators with the Park County Sheriff’s Office are conducting the investigation and are processing the scene and conducting interviews. Preliminary findings indicate this is a murder / suicide. There is a known history of one charge of domestic violence against the deceased male. According to initial reports they had previously been in a relationship but not for the past few years.
