Police investigating horse shooting in SW Idaho
Police in Eagle in southwestern Idaho are asking for help in finding the person who shot a horse in a pasture in a rural residential area.
Police say 20-year-old Rocky was shot sometime Saturday once in the shoulder.
An equine veterinarian was called by the owners when they discovered Rocky was wounded. But the veterinarian said Rocky had lost too much blood and couldn't be saved.
Ada County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Andrea Dearden says deputies doing an investigation say the position of the horse and the type of wound indicate the shooting was intentional.
Rocky was in a pasture on Willow Creek Road when he was shot.
Rocky's owners say he was a faithful hunting trail horse.
