Police investigating possible drug use in weekend crash
BUTTE, Mont. -

The Butte Police are investigating whether "huffing" may have been a factor in a weekend crash.

Police responded to a report of a car crashed into a Harrison Avenue building around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Undersheriff George Skuletich said there were five girls in the vehicle, all between the ages of 13 and 15.

Skuletich said investigators found bottles of alcohol and eight cans of "Dust-Off," a propellant sometimes inhaled to get high.

He explained that "huffing" is a problem the Butte community needs to be aware of.

He explained, "clerks and everybody's got to be aware that when you see kids coming in and buying a bunch of spray paint or dust off or something like that, be aware, be aware that they're not using it to clean their computers they're using it to get high, and it's a very dangerous high."

Skuletich said the girls were transported to St. James.

He said the driver has been charged with negligent endangerment, and police are waiting for blood results before making other charges.
