Missoula Police are investigating two armed robberies reported late Monday night.

Missoula Police Department Public Information Officer Travis Welsh said both reports involved a suspect with a black handgun.

The first call came in around 10:48 p.m. for a report of a robbery at a convenience store in the 300 block of Orange Street. Welsh said the suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and took off with cash. That suspect was wearing a maroon snowboard jacket, camouflaged pants and had a white mask with eye holes.

The second reported robbery came from a convenience store on the 2300 block of Reserve Street around 11:24 p.m. That suspect had a black handgun. The person was wearing a grey zipper hooded sweatshirt, black athletic pants with white stripes down the side and a black mask.

Welsh said detectives are looking at the cases as two separate incidents, though they're also comparing the cases to two armed robberies on East Broadway last month.

In the East Broadway cases a robber hit the Motel 6 - Studio 6 and the Taco Bell across the street. That suspect had a handgun and got away with cash. Those robberies prompted schools and neighborhoods to lock down while police searched the area.

Anyone with information about any of the robberies can call Five Valleys Crimestoppers to provide an anonymous tip at 721-4444.

Specific information about the Orange Street robbery can also be directed to Detective Mark Blood at 552-6281.

Information from the Reserve Street robbery can be given to Detective Shelia More at 552-6285.
