BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Police tell NBC Montana a 26-year-old man is in protective custody after threatening to take his life Monday afternoon. We spoke to Deputy Chief Rich McLane who said they got a call around 1 p.m. to Vine St. in a neighborhood west of Bozeman.

The wife of the 26-year-old man called dispatch and told them her husband was threatening to kill himself. McLane said the wife and the couple's son were inside when the man was making threats of suicide.

Officials quickly responded and were able to get the wife and child out of the home.

McLane said there were guns inside the house, but the situation ended without anyone being harmed. The man is now in protective custody and McLane said he will be getting help.
