High winds leave thousands in Flathead-area without power
KALISPELL, Mont. -

Flathead Electric reports about 1,500 customers were without power early Friday morning.

Crews located a burned power pole on Clancy Road in Lakeside and have been working to restore power.

The outage hit at close to 8:30 a.m.

According to Flathead Electric’s Communication Director, Wendy Ostrom-Price, the outage affected about 1,500 members at its peak.

Crews do not yet know the cause of the fire that burned the power pole. But supervisors suspect gusty winds may have played a role.
