BUTTE, Mont. -

The following is a news release from Northwestern Energy.

NorthWestern Energy is planning an early-morning outage in northeast Bozeman on Sept. 26, 2013. The outage is part of an extensive upgrade to the electric system in the area.

NorthWestern Energy has been working in northeast Bozeman over the last six months, replacing poles and transformers, upgrading system voltage and taking other measures to improve electric service in the area. NorthWestern has spent more than $600,000 on these upgrades.

To complete this work, NorthWestern Energy has scheduled a four-hour power outage for the area from Mendenhall to Tamarack and North 7th to Wallace. The outage will begin at 2 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, and power is expected to be restored by 6 a.m. The outage will affect about 900 customers.

While the outage was timed to minimize disruption to customers, NorthWestern apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the upgrade work. For more information about your electric service, contact NorthWestern Energy’s customer contact center at 888-467-2669.

NorthWestern Energy announced today that it has scheduled an approximate 5-hour-long power outage for the entire Deer Lodge area beginning at 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26. The outage will allow company line crews to make repairs safely at a local substation. The crews will replace equipment needed to deliver reliable service to Deer Lodge area customers and to avoid longer outages in the future.

The impacted area covers the entire city of Deer Lodge, west to the Montana State Prison area, east to Poly Mountain, and south to the Race Track area. The northern boundary is the northern edge of the city.

NorthWestern Energy apologizes for any inconvenience this planned outage may cause.  For any questions or concerns, please call our Customer Contact Center at (888) 467-2669.
