Project Homeless Connect returns to Kalispell
KALISPELL, Mont. -

Hundreds of folks made their way to The Samaritan House in Kalispell for the second annual Project Homeless Connect. Organizers say homelessness and poverty are serious issues in the Flathead, with nearly 500 who do not have a home.

PHC strives to knock down the barriers that keep the homeless from receiving the care and aid they otherwise could not afford. One young woman who is currently staying at the Samaritan House tells NBC Montana Project Homeless Connect is a way for her and others to get back on their feet one step at a time.

"It helps with everything," said Jennifer Fry. "It helps with the food, clothing, and blankets that homeless people do not have. Whatever they need here and all the support."

Project Homeless Connect is an international event, with nearly 200 events held yearly.
