Prosecutor: Man confessed to son's slaying in call
Prosecutors say a Washington state man told his father during a jailhouse phone call that he killed his 3-year-old son after taking pills and running out of gas on a remote Montana road.
The court documents filed Friday include excerpts from the call recorded the morning after 38-year-old Jeremy Cramer's arrest.
The transcript depicts a rambling Cramer who tells his worried father, "I killed my own kid and I don't know why."
Brody Cramer's beaten and stabbed body was found in a field on July 9.
Investigators found a knife and two rocks covered in blood nearby. They found an empty container for a generic substitute of the drug Adderall on Jeremy Cramer.
Cramer has been charged with homicide. His court-appointed attorney did not immediately return a call Monday.
