As the Rainbow Gathering winds down, fire danger in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest ramps up.
Folks with the Forest Service say hot, dry weather conditions kicked the fire danger level up to moderate.
That means fires can start accidentally but the number of starts is generally low.
Forest Service officials say there are still about 6,000 people at the camp.
Soon volunteers from the gathering will begin to clean up and rehabilitate the area with oversight from the Forest Service.
Officials add, anyone traveling on the Skinner Meadows Road and State Highway 278 over the weekend will see an increase in vehicle and pedestrian traffic as participants leave the event.
