Regents approve raises for administrators, coaches

HELENA, Mont. -

The state Board of Regents approved raises for university administrators and coaches during its recent meeting in Butte.
    
Montana State University President Waded Cruzado and University of Montana President Royce Engstrom receive a 2.3 percent raise to $296,229 annually. The raises take effect Tuesday.
    
Provost Martha Potvin at MSU will earn $209,852 while UM Provost Perry Brown receives $196,570.
    
The regents also approved raises for the coaches at both universities.
    
MSU football coach Rob Ash gets a 2.4 percent raise to $178,715 per year while Montana coach Mick Delaney's salary will increase to $165,557.
    
Montana men's basketball coach Wayne Tinkle will earn $138,288 while MSU men's coach Brad Huse has a base salary of $116,635. On the women's side, UM coach Robin Selvig earns $148,751 while MSU's Tricia Bader-Binford earns $138,288.
