A panel of judges turned down a former University of Montana football player's request for a lesser sentence.
Beau Donaldson is in prison for raping a friend who was staying at his home in 2010. He's serving 30 years with 20 suspended.
We were there last month when Donaldson took his case to the Sentence Review Division of the State Supreme Court. His attorney and Donaldson himself asked the review board for a lesser sentence with some sort of drug or alcohol treatment program.
The board came back with their decision Thursday, to uphold the sentence.
The decision reads: “The Division finds that the reasons advanced for modification are insufficient to hold that the sentence imposed by the District Court is inadequate or excessive.”
