BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Officials with the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office say a rock climber was injured Saturday evening in Hyalite Canyon. Undersheriff Dan Springer tells NBC Montana that search and rescue was called out to the scene around 5p.m. on Saturday.

The rock climber was with other folks at the time of the incident. We are told the rock climber was taken to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital with injuries to an ankle and possibly the head.

Practice Rock is the same location where a Gallatin County deputy, John "Amos" Ridenour, lost his life in a tragic rock climbing accident on Labor Day.

No further details are being released about the incident.
