An awesome fork lightning strike in Lolo, MT.
This was the shot of the storm that hit kalispell August 29 at about 4:30 pm. Not long after this shot the wind gusts took down part of a tree in one of our paddocks!!

The rainbow is not always seen as an arch it seems.
The stormy weather that has overtaken us this last week left little doubt that Summer has gone and Fall is firmly establishing its hold on our valley.
The fog coming off the mountains and the intense sky led me out for photos after work. We really are "rounding the curve" from Summer to Fall!
Caught these Sandhill Cranes flying towards a rainbow.
A windy day rattled the tarp on my sawmill. This yearling cow elk was attracted by the noise and tore the day lights out of my tarp. She'd tear a piece off, stomp on it, and grab another piece until it was all in shreds.
