Someone may be drugging drinks in popular nightspots
MISSOULA, Mont. -

Somebody may be slipping drugs into drinks at popular nightspots in Whitefish. The police chief is sending out a notice that people feel they have been drugged.

Police have not been able to substantiate this, but are urging the public to be on alert.

People we spoke to in Whitefish are concerned.  Katie Poe says, "I'm kind of surprised.  It's unfortunate.  People need to take of their friends and look out for everybody.

Jessica Vizzutti adds, " It's really unfortunate.  I mean, I'm not too worried about myself but I hope everybody just looks out for each other in the community and don't want anybody getting drugged.  That's not what we're about."

Police Chief Bill Dial warns people to protect their drinks from others who might put foreign substances into them and secure the drinks if you believe someone might have slipped in drugs.

Officers also ask that if you feel you have been drugged or sexually assaulted that you immediately contact law enforcement so that evidence can be preserved.  You are asked not to change clothes or take a shower.

We will keep you posted and let you know if there are any new developments.
