MISSOULA, Mont. -

A 10-year-old northwestern Montana boy charged with burglary and disorderly conduct is being held at a juvenile detention facility with bail set at $500,000 pending a neuropsychological evaluation.

The Missoulian reports Lake County District Court Judge Kim Christopher set the boy's bail last Thursday. The boy is being held in Galen, 135 miles from his home in St. Ignatius.

Dorinda Buck says her grandson's caseworker is trying to expedite the evaluation, but so far the earliest opening is May 22. She agrees he needs the evaluation, but is concerned about him being in custody until it is completed.

The boy was on a deferred prosecution agreement on burglary and felony theft charges when he was cited for disorderly conduct for a confrontation with a school administrator.
